Rise of the Runelords – Episode 37

With Fort Rannick now secure, you’d think things would settle down a bit. You’d think that maybe there’d be some breathing room, some time to take in the sights and enjoy the tranquility of nature and the lands far away from the hustle and bustle of Magnimar.

But you’d be wrong. Dead wrong.

The Saviors of Sandpoint question Dilay, the adopted sister of one of their own, and find out why she took the name Lucrecia and slaughtered the Black Arrows of Fort Rannick.

Also, the unholy offspring of the Loch Ness Monster and a psychic demon comes to Turtleback Ferry… and it’s not there for the farmer’s market.

Easy Pet Battles in WoW

gggg

You may read the title of the above video and think “c’mon, pet battles aren’t rocket science.”

My reply would be “shut up.” Also, “watch the damn video.”

The video, from the mind and talent of Kraken Latte, really puts pet battles on cruise control. Why would someone want such a thing? Well, maybe you’re new to pet battles. Maybe you’re just trying to get through them ASAP. Maybe you’re having trouble coming up with the best combo and rotation to get through these battles.

Five minutes after watching this video, I was wrecking face in new and interesting ways. Thanks, Kraken!

The Danger Room

Matt Colville is an old-school Dungeon Master from way back. Probably as way back as me (post-dawn of time), and maybe further! The man knows his stuff, is what I’m saying here.

One of the many things I like about Matt is how he draws from previous games to enhance his current campaign. His most recent video is a great tip for players and DM/GM’s alike who want to not just build chemistry between characters, but for players to test their new characters without getting them killed.

Welcome to The Danger Room.

I did something like this a few years back when my players started our Pathfinder campaign, Second Darkness. Everyone sat around the table, I let the players give a brief description of their characters, then I set out a map with some minis and said “Roll for initiative.”

Now they didn’t know that the characters were not in any real danger, so it wasn’t a true Danger Room kind of scenario. But they got to flex their muscles and see how those stats and abilities worked in “real-time”. Afterward, I told them that if they wanted to make any adjustments after what they had seen, now was the time to do it.

I really like the Danger Room concept, and think I’ll use it more often in the future.

Rise of the Runelords – Episode 36

I really have to get better at posting these things. Or posting at all for that matter.

In our last Rise of the Runelords session, the Saviors of Sandpoint had just clashed with several Kreeg ogres who had set up shop within the walls of Fort Rannick. However, after a quick headcount, they realized that in the midst of the battle two of the ogres had gone missing. The heroes also noticed that the front doors leading outside were now open.

That… can’t be good.

How did it go for the Saviors of Sandpoint? Find out here in Rise of the Runelords Episode 36 – Let’s Split the Party – AGAIN!

World of Warcraft – Next Expansion

Save the Date, as they say. April 19th, 2022 is the day flagged for the announcement of the next World of Warcraft Expansion!

On April 19, the World of Warcraft development team will reveal the next expansion.  We’re excited to show you what we’ve been working on and where your adventures in Azeroth will go next.

I’m not sure how much this will affect me. Apparently, there are a few more zones that have been added to Shadowlands since 9.0 went live. I’m still running dailies for gold in the main hub. Haven’t been motivated, storyline or otherwise, to go much further.

Still, April 19 may be a bigger date than just an expansion announcement. BlizzConline was put on hold back in October 2021. Since then, Blizzard has been dealing with “issues” of its own. But with a new expansion coming and some other titles showing movement on the development front… maybe, just maybe, we might hear something about Blizzcon 2022.
