Sorry for the sporadic posts as of late.  Real life being the bitch that it is, I’ve been busy taking a two month college apprenticeship course (which sucks) at a school a good six hour drive from civilization (which really sucks).  Between homework and isolation, it gets pretty lonely.  The mind tends to wander and drift to other things.

As you are probably aware by now, patch 4.3 is currently on the PTR.  This means we will most likely see it go live in the next few weeks – November 22nd or so, I would guess.  Now is the time to start preparing for the patch so you don’t find yourself screwed out of potential gold making opportunities once it goes live.

I know that’s happened to me in the past.  I’d forget to check patch notes, then found myself bent over when I looked at the AH post-patch and saw all those opportunities I’d missed out on.

Blizzard had dropped word in a blue post that as of Patch 4.3, Chaos Orbs were no longer going to be soulbound.  You can expect to see those big, beautiful orbs in an Auction House near you once the patch goes live.

What does this mean for gold makers?  Two things.

One Thing – People who have max level professions and have unlocked the various recipe vendors in Firelands will be looking to pound out epic gear once they can get their hands on Chaos Orbs.  Expect crafted epic prices to go down once 4.3 goes live and more people start grinding them out.  If you have crafted epics now, you might want to try and move them before everybody starts selling them.

Thing the Second – People who will be making these epics, for themselves or to sell, are going to need the mats to make them.  The price of epics may dip, but the mats will go up.

Now is the time to capitalize on the lull before the patch.  Now, I search for my MILF!

That’s right – Mats I Love to Find!

These mats are the crafting mats that are most often used in crafted epic items.  People are going to be buying these up left and right, so now is the time to penetrate the Auction House market — deep!

My MILF list involves: Volatiles, Truegold, Pristine Hide, Living Embers, and Hardened Elementium Bars.  Start looking for them now (or start making your own if you have a pet Alchemist in your back pocket) and offload your stockpile once Patch 4.3 goes live.

There’s also reports that more profession recipes are going live with the patch, so grab your own MILFs and get ready for a wild time when people start throwing cash at you, covering you in a virtual golden shower of coins.
