With gearscore now being used by Blizzard to determine who gets into Heroics, what you wear is almost as important as what you do. Having run some of the regular instances, I can tell you that you want to be on your toes when you step into a Cataclysm dungeon. You want to be smart, and still manage to pour out mass quantities of sustained DPS.

You also want to pick up some decent gear so you don’t suck.

Now, if you’ve done what Blizzard hoped and actually gone through the entire questline in each of the new zones, you will have at least Honored rep with the applicable factions. That’s enough to buy a tabard, as well as pick up a piece of gear or two that might help your stats. This is a list, originally compiled by WoW Insider’s Warrior columnist Matthew Rossi, of the rep items you should look at picking up. The list was designed for Warriors, but Death Knights can benefit from the selections as well. If you’re interested in tanking, Rossi included suitable tank gear in his original post.

Guardians of Hyjal

• Honored: Galrond’s Band (DPS ring)
• Revered: Waywatcher’s Boots
• Exalted: Belt of the Ferocious Wolf

Therazane

• Honored: Lesser Inscription of Jagged Stone
• Revered: Gorski’s Band of Shattering
• Exalted: Greater Inscription of Jagged Stone

Ramkahen

• Honored: Shroud of the Dead
• Revered: Red Rock Band
• Exalted: Gift of Nadun

The Earthen Ring

• Honored: Stone-Wrapped Greaves
• Revered: Arcanum of the Earthen Ring
• Exalted: Signet of the Elder Council

The Wildhammer Clan/Dragonmaw Clan

• Honored: Nothing really.
• Revered: Arcanum of the Dragonmaw/Arcanum of the WIldhammer
• Revered: Gauntlets of Rattling Bones (Dragonmaw) / Gryphon Talon Gauntlets (Wildhammer)
• Exalted: Tank gear, nothing for DPS.

Hellscream’s Reach/Baradin Warders

• Honored: Baradin Footman’s Tags/Baradin Grunt’s Talisman
• Revered: Blade of the Fearless (2H) / Ravening Slicer (1H) / Sky Piercer (Ranged)
• Exalted: Impatience of Youth
