The Warrior – Patch 4.0.1
Cataclysm doesn’t drop until December 7, but things are pretty chaotic in Azeroth right now.
Broken addons, bugged UI’s, brand new trees… quite frankly it’s enough to give a guy a throbbing migraine. But I’m here to help, so here’s some class help for those who are spinning their wheels. First, of course, is the new Warrior for 4.0.
General
Q: Will Plate Specialization and Mastery be available with the patch?
A: Yes, you can learn them from your trainer.Q: Will Agility Amulets/Rings/Cloaks/Ranged Weapons break Plate Specialization?
A: No, as those items don’t have an armor type. You still want to replace them with Strength items if you can.Q: Where the heck did all my Armor Penetration/Block Value/Block Rating/Defense go?
A: Blizzard converted them all into other stats. Depending on the item Armor Penetration became Haste or Crit while Block Value/Block Rating/Defense became Parry or Dodge.Arms
Q: What is the best Arms spec?
A: Some variation of 31/4/1. You have a lot of leeway on Major and Minor glyphs.Q: What about Blood and Thunder?
A: If you want more AoE damage go for it, take the points out of Battle Trance to get it.Q: Why did you skip Sudden Death?
A: It doesn’t proc Execute anymore, only Colossus Smash,Q: What rotation should I be using?
A: Maintain Rend, prioritize Mortal Strike > Overpower > Slam. Execute is only better than Slam at high levels of AP and when there’s a full 30 rage available. Don’t Slam or Execute if it will delay MS, and use Heroic Strike at 60+ rage.Q: When do I use Bladestorm?
A: When you need to AoE. It’s not worth using for single targets.Q: What good is Shattering Throw?
A: It can increase raid DPS during Bloodlust if there are a number of other physical DPS present. However, it’s a personal DPS loss.Q: What are my stat priorities?
A: Get 8% Hit. After that, Strength > Crit > Mastery = Expertise > Haste.Q: What should I reforge my Haste into?
A: Hit if you’re below the cap, otherwise Crit.Q: What should I use to enchant my weapon?

A: Do it. It’s a DPS gain for the raid, and for you as well if no one else is willing/able. Screw your rotation and the DPS race; stack it immediately to full. No, it isn’t a better idea for the Rogues to use Expose Armor.Fury

A: There aren’t any one-handers with Strength on them currently which hurts Single Minded Fury significantly. Feel free to play around with it, but it won’t really take off until Cataclysm.Q: I don’t like Rude Interruption, it sucks on bosses without interrupts.
A: If you’re dying for some specific utility elsewhere that’s your prerogative, but there are no other DPS talents to take.Q: What rotation should I be using for Titan’s Grip?
A: Prioritize like so: Bloodthirst > Raging Blow (use Berserker Rage to activate if necessary) > Slam > Shouts. Use Heroic Strike at 60+ rage.Q: Should I use Slam when I don’t have a Bloodsurge proc?
A: No.Q: What about when I can Execute?
A: Execute to stack your Executioner talent, then resume your rotation replacing Slam with Execute when you need to maintain your stack.Q: When do I use Death Wish and Recklessness?

A: Protection is less set in stone, depending on whether you’re running heroics are raiding. The prior build is a general raiding setup.Q: What’s my maximum threat rotation?
A: Prioritize Shield Slam > Revenge > Victory Rush (with Impending Victory) > Devastate. Heroic Strike at 60+ rage.Q: What about AoE packs?
A: Rend (if you took Blood and Thunder), Thunderclap and Shockwave become your top priorities. Use Cleave instead of Heroic Strike. Shield Block will greatly reduce your incoming damage.Q: What are my stat priorities?
A: Stamina, Dodge and Mastery.Q: Should I reforge Dodge for Mastery?
A: No.Q: What about Parry?
A: Maybe. If you do, go all out as Mastery gets better the more of it you have. Just don’t reforge Dodge.Q: My threat sucks, what should I do?
A: Expertise is your best single target threat stat before you hit 26 expertise, it gets more confusing after that. Strength is the best all around threat stat and for AoE. Look for tanking gear with these stats, or reforge some Parry for Expertise.Q: I keep dying. What I am doing wrong?
A: You are probably still adjusting to the new changes, as are your healers. In addition, you may be undergeared, using a wrong strategy, standing in the fire, failing to use/time your survival cooldowns or have too few/bad healers.Q: Who should get my Vigilance?
A: Your offtank in a raid. Whoever keeps pulling threat in heroics.

thnx m8 im still confused about fury warriors i took all my haste from my gear and put mastery on all ov it exsept rings and trinkets is that a good or bad thing ??n im so confused over all this could really do wiv some help im no good at all this kind ov stuff.. plz help me m8 would be ov much help if u could send me a step by step guide u can get my toon from armory plz help m8 plz ty hope to hear from u in futre 🙂
The text above you sais to reforge HIT RATING not MASTERY. You need HIT RATING first retard how hard is to read before you post.

I reforge a lot of haste in hit, all my blue gems are hit (i have 19.xx% +1% from racial). I have a lot of crit (around 48% unbuff) and haste (around 14/15% unbuff). Yesterday with my guild we do saurfang 25hc, and i do only 7.8k dps, when before the patch in icc i do on this boss over 13k!
I use the rotation explain in this post, i have all enchant/soket, i know my class but now…. im scared… where is my dps? ç_ç
You really only need 8% Hit –

At 19% Hit, you have much more than you need. Swap out some of those Hit gems and replace them with Strength or Expertise (if you have less that 26 Expertise). Give that a try and see if that improves your DPS.
Actually, for Fury DPS now, you should gem and reforge until you get to 27% hit. This fixes the current rage issues that warriors were reporting.
As far as Arms goes, it’s still 8% then just gem straight Strength > Crit > etc.
Im not using that rotation at all im spaming:
BT + HS, Raging Blow on GCD, when execute comes avail i spam execute until targets is dead
On trash im alot lower then before but hey who wane be famous for high dps on trash.
On bosses (Icc) im around the levels i had before.
Actually its just plain stupid to get 27% hit…i have 9.19% hit and im doing just fine..im pulling 13-14k in 10 man hc icc 🙂 you just need to get used how to use your skills and manage your rage…geting 27% hit will have you loose most of your strenght gems wich doesnt hold up for the damage you do with not missing a white damage…speciall skills hit cap is still 8% and im sure blizz will fix the rage managment problem soon…you just need to be patient its a huge patch its a new expansion and its normal that these problems apear and im sure blizz will do theyr best to solve all the problems as fast as they can.

You need to maintain a high amount of rage as fury to keep the special attacks coming. My rotation is built around HS, BT

You need to maintain a high amount of rage as fury to keep the special attacks coming. My rotation is built around HS, BT and RB but I ALWAYS hit BT over RB as it gives more damage. Of course I spam execute when the boss is below 20% and I hit reclessness at this time also. I only ever use slam when nothing else is off CD.
On the heroic training dummy, i’m hitting around 9k DPS. But, like all stats and rotations, it comes down to personal play style and what you are used to and what ‘fits’ you.
for fury, you need much higher hit than just the lower cap or you’ll rage starve. i’ve actually started following the socket colors on my gear since we need hit (blue) and str (red) anyway. also, heroic strike should now be you first priority since it hits much harder than BT. macro in berserker rage with all your buttons as it helps with rage generation (we no longer have bloodrage) and is also an enrage buff to help keep raging blow going. finally, keep battle/commanding shout on CD. it generates 25rage and goes along way to keeping up you rotation.
You all should try this:
I reforged all my excess hit, (above 8%) into haste. I know that’s not what the folks above say to do. My rotation as swapping between BT and HS and hitting Slam and Raging Blow whenever they proc. I use a shout between pulls or anytime my rage empties on boss fights. I’m pulling over 9K on training dummies without any buffs except battle shout. This is higher than I was before the new patch. I’m also right in line with where I used to be on the charts in ICC, that being always on top! 🙂 Prior to reforging for haste, this was not the case. My DPS was around 7K on the dummies. I plan to reforge mastery as well and see how that does, but for now I believe stat priority is Hit 8% > Expertise 26 > Str > HASTE. I’m interested if others are getting these results?
The prot questions are wrong.
Reforge Dodge for mastery as parry will be much better due to the talent “Hold The Line”. Im currently sitting at 41% block and nearly unhittable. Which means if I dont dodge/parry/miss I will block.
